Tekla Structures Advanced Steel Detailing - Duration 600Hrs

  This 6-month in-depth training program is designed for freshers who want to master Tekla Structures and steel detailing from the ground up. The course starts with the basics and gradually progresses to advanced concepts, ensuring participants gain a strong foundation and practical expertise to handle real-world projects confidently. 

Duration: 6 Months | For Freshers

Month 1: Introduction to Tekla Structures and Basics of Steel Detailing

 

Objective: Understand the software, steel detailing concepts, and basic modeling.

  • Introduction to Tekla Structures
    • What is Tekla Structures?
    • Applications in steel detailing and construction.
    • Overview of the user interface and navigation.
  • Basics of Steel Detailing
    • Role of a steel detailer.
    • Types of drawings: GA, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
    • Industry standards (AISC, EN, DIN, etc.).
  • Basic Modeling
    • Setting up a new model (grids, views, and levels).
    • Creating basic elements: beams, columns, plates, and bolts.
    • Introduction to connections (bolted and welded).
  • Drawing Basics
    • Creating simple GA drawings.
    • Adding dimensions, annotations, and marks.

Month 2: Intermediate Modeling and Detailing


Objective: Learn to create and manage complex models and connections.

  • Intermediate Modeling
    • Working with assemblies and sub-assemblies.
    • Creating curved and tapered members.
    • Using filters and selection tools for model management.
  • Steel Connections
    • Standard connections: bolted, welded, and custom.
    • Modifying connection properties.
    • Resolving common connection issues.
  • Detailing Tools
    • Adding advanced annotations and marks.
    • Creating fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Material and Part Lists
    • Generating material takeoff reports.
    • Customizing part lists and assembly lists.

Month 3: Advanced Modeling and Custom Components

 

Objective: Master advanced modeling techniques and custom component creation.

  • Advanced Modeling Techniques
    • Creating complex geometry (curved beams, plates, etc.).
    • Working with advanced components and profiles.
  • Custom Components
    • Introduction to the Component Editor.
    • Creating parametric custom components.
    • Using variables and formulas in custom components.
  • Clash Detection
    • Understanding clashes in the model.
    • Running clash checks and resolving clashes.
  • Project Setup and Management
    • Setting up a project from scratch.
    • Organizing model objects and drawings.

Month 4: Advanced Detailing and Drawing Management

 

Objective: Learn advanced detailing techniques and efficient drawing management.

  • Advanced Detailing
    • Adding grating, handrails, and ladders.
    • Creating complex connection details.
  • Drawing Management
    • Customizing drawing templates and layouts.
    • Automating drawing creation using macros.
    • Managing revisions and markups.
  • Output and Reporting
    • Generating CNC files (DSTV, XML, etc.).
    • Exporting data to fabrication machinery.
    • Customizing reports for specific project requirements.
  • BIM Integration
    • Exporting models to other BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
    • Working with IFC files.

Month 5: Customization, Automation, and Scripting

 

Objective: Learn to customize Tekla Structures and automate repetitive tasks.

    • Toolbar and menu customization.
    • Keyboard shortcuts and workflows.
  • Automation Tools
    • Introduction to Tekla Open API.
    • Creating custom tools and macros.
